An energy assessment is the first stage of the process of improving the energy performance of your home. ecologic-energy has a team of trained advisers who can set you on your way and can unlock grants and loans to finance them.
An assessment can take anything from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending upon the level of detail you require or the complexity of the works. The basic assessment involves a technical survey of the home and it will identify the most effective energy saving measures that would benefit you. These are listed in a document called an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
The more complex assessment also looks at the way you use the energy in the home and involves a discussion with you about ways to save energy. In addition to the EPC we produce a Green Deal Advice Report (GDAR) following the visit.
Whichever survey you choose, we will sit down with you to discuss the recommendations, and send you the reports to keep.
Grants and Loans
If you qualify for an ECO grant for a measure, then you will require an EPC, and possibly a GDAR. If you require a Green Deal loan then you will definitely require a GDAR.
